Zion National Park is located in the southwest corner of Utah, and is one of America's most beautiful and popular National Parks.  Deep ZION LODGING, NATURE PHOTOS, HIKING, INFORMATIONnarrow canyons, waterfalls and hanging gardens are the main attractions of this oasis in the desert.  Early Mormon pioneers who settled in Zion saw the sculptured sandstone formations as "temples of God," giving biblical names to many of the more prominent features.

Today Angel's Landing, the Great White Throne, the Three Patriarchs, and the Virgin River are among the Zion's most recognizable features.  Allow a minimum of one full day here.  Two or three would be even better!

Hiking trails in Zion range from a gentle stroll along the river to technical routes  requiring ropes and climbing gear.  Be sure to visit our Zion Nature Photo Gallery for a preview of the scenery you can expect when you include this exciting national park in your Southwest vacation plans.  Lodging and food are available inside the park, with additional hotels and restaurants located in the nearby towns of Springdale, St. George, Mt. Carmel, and Kanab.  If you are looking for a more intimate accommodations, there are also many quaint Bed & Breakfast Inns in this part of Utah.

For your convenience, we've included a map of the Zion area along with a complete list of Zion guides, outfitters and tour companies.  You'll find plenty of fun and adventure here for the whole family. The area in and around Zion National Park is a great place for mountain biking, swimming, horseback riding, 4-wheeling, rock climbing, and more!

The Narrows of the Virgin River is considered by many to be one of the 10 best adventure hikes in the world.  The "Subway" section of North Creek is equally spectacular.  Opportunities for nature photography are virtually unlimited in Zion.  This early morning photo of the setting moon was made along the Canyon Overlook Trail, near the East entrance of the park.  Nature photo tip:  Zion has a little of everything.  Look for abstract patterns and macro shots, as well as grand vistas.  You'll need a camera bag full of lenses to take advantage of all Zion has to offer.
